When my elderly mother passed away, I was left with the daunting task of selling her home of 40 years. Fortunately she had expressed the desire to see the Mair team handle the transaction as she had been helped by the family members (who had been neighbours) on many occasions.

From the start of the process, Robbie and Lauren made it as painless as possible. Their sound knowledge of the Brampton market allowed good decisions to be made regarding whether to invest time and money in any renovation upgrades.

After fifty-six years in their home, my parents made the difficult decision to sell it and move to assisted care. My siblings and I wanted to find a real estate agent who would get the best possible offer from the market while respecting my parents' feelings during the process. We interviewed several agents including Rob Mair. My sister knew Rob from high school. We decided to go with Rob for a few reasons, including his knowledge of 'old Brampton' and the fact that he had done business with people we knew. He even sold one of the homes on our court in past. Rob Mair and his team helped my husband (Tim) and I sell our Brampton house in May 2016. We dealt with Rob & his son Robbie. They were both very knowledgeable about the real estate market in Brampton at the time we listed. Our house went up for sale on a Thursday, and we had a deal in place Sunday night, and the deal had the exact closing date we wanted, and was higher than our asking price.

A big factor in the sale, even though it was a hot market in Brampton, was that Rob knew what price we should list our house for. He did not suggest we low ball the price to get people in the door. This was something I had heard that several agents were doing. He recommended we list for the fair market value of our home. This ensured only serious buyers made appointments to view. It was amazing how many people viewed our house by appointment before the Open House on the Sunday. Plus we did not get any low ball offers.

I had read on-line that when selling a home you should remove all your personal items (especially pictures of family), and have your home staged by a professional stager so that potential buyers could see themselves living in the house. This was a worry to me, but Rob knew that the removal of personal items, and staging, was not necessary for our home in the Brampton market. In fact, he felt it added character to the house.

The advertising campaign was thorough. The pictures and video, he arranged were done by a professional photographer. It really made our home look fantastic to potential buyers. The buyers knew exactly what the interior looked like before they came for a viewing. Plus the printed book he produced, and made available at the Open House, also showed our house to perfection.

Rob and Robbie made the selling of our home stress free.

I highly recommend the Mair real estate team. They are professional, knowledgeable, great to deal with and have the seller's best interest in mind.
